Jerry Wayne “Strawberry” Roat

Jerry Wayne “Strawberry” Roat, 47, of Indore, died suddenly at home, Monday, October 23, 2017.  He was born Februry 17, 1970 at Montgomery General Hospital.

Jerry was preceded in death by his son, Shawn Michael Roat; father, Elmer Lee Roat; paternal grandmother, Emogene Roat; maternal grandparents, Edward and Katheryn Barton Snyder.

Jerry was a business owner of SMR Trucking and was a son, father and friend to all he met and was loved by all. May he rest in peace.

Surviving are his wife, Lisa Dawn Roat; daughter, Carlie Roat of Ivydale; step-children, Kristin Young (Tommy) of Charlton Heights, Brandy Duncan of Indore, Cody Duncan (Raven White) of Charleston; step-grandchildren, Parker McCourt, Caroline Cummings and Carolyn Young; mother, Sharon Kay Truman (Billy) of Indore; brothers, Jody Roat (Jessica) of Indore, Wesley C. TruMan, II (Lisa) of Maysel; sister, Aaron TruMan of Indore; paternal grandfather, George Roat of Cannelton.

A service to celebrate Jerry’s life was held Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Sycamore Missionary Baptist Church, Indore, with Pastor W. T. Bevins officiating. Dinner followed the service at the church.
