Erna Wanda Acree

Erna Wanda Acree, 87, of Clay, entered into rest Wednesday, November 1, 2017.

Born September 17, 1930 in Clay, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Florina (Hamrick) Paxton. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her sons, Johnny and Stanley Smith, and ten siblings.

Erna is survived by her husband, Norval Acree of Clay; daughters, Sandra (John) Ely of Front Royal, VA, Emma Lea (Darrell) Nutter and Joyce (Randy) Sigler both of Summerville; step-children, Pam (Darrius) Holcomb of Indore, Jannetta (Rusty) Gray and Mary Beth (Danny) both of Clay, twenty-nine grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Davis of Flatwoods; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on November 4, 2017 at Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home, with Ministers Jeremy Holcomb, Gary Drake, Geoff Hamrick and Dennis Legg officiating. Burial followed in Sunset Cemetery, Bickmore.
