Natural Resources Police in Clay County are asking for public assistance with identifying the individual responsible for the shooting of a 61 year old Bickmore man and his dog.

On Sunday, November 12, 2017 at approximately 4:30 p.m., the victim was walking his ten-year-old Border Collie, Spot, through the woods on his property, when both received injuries from a gunshot. The unidentified shooter fled the scene on foot.

Officers are requesting any information from residents who may have witnessed the shooter’s actions or who may have vital information leading to the identity of the individual responsible for the shooting. Officers are continuing to investigate and ask anyone with information to contact NRP Officer Stuart Simms at 304-400-7932, email at stuart.j.simms@wv.gov or the FrenchCreek District Office at 304-924-6211.
