From haunted trails and barns to spooky corn mazes, Clay County is full of events to get you into the Halloween spirit.  All over the county, citizens and groups are getting their events together to make for a great time.

The Buffalo Creek trail will be hosting their first ever haunted train ride.  From October 25-27 you can take advantage of $10 trail rides full of fear and fright.  The first ride of each night will leave at 6 p.m., and each trip will accommodate approximately 30 people. Thursday night rides will close at 10:30 p.m., and Friday and Saturday they will be open until 1 a.m. You can purchase tee shirts and sweatshirts along with concessions being offered by Clay County High School’s TSA.  For more information on the haunted train rides visit the Buffalo Creek Haunted Train Ride on Facebook or contact Dustin Fitzwater.

On the other side of the county, Taylor Made Farms is putting on their first ever Haunted Barn. From October 25-27 you can come and get the scare of your life while touring the haunted barn in Bomont. Owner Tammy Taylor has been working the past few weeks to insure you have a great time and hopes to make this an annual event. She is generously donating 10 percent of all proceeds to Clay County High School’s prom.  Concessions will be available. For more information visit Taylor Made Farms on Facebook or contact Tammy Taylor.

In Fola,  the 8th annual Fola Corn Maze is already underway.  As always, there is no charge for this event, but they do ask that you bring a canned food donation for the local food pantry.  Concessions are available for purchase and they do use strobe lights, but urge you to let them know beforehand if this is an issue and they will accommodate. You can get more information by visiting Fola Halloween Maze on Facebook or by contacting Pam Boggs. The schedule is October 19, 20, 26, and 27 from 7-11 p.m., and October 31 from 6-9:30 p.m.

H.E. White’s annual fall carnival will take place on October 27 from 5-7:30 p.m. The carnival at H.E. White never disappoints and will be bigger this year than ever! From a kid friendly hay ride to a haunted trail for the older kids, and of course the unique carnival games inside.  Costume contest, cake walks, games, prizes, and much more will be available. Contact Audree Gould or the school at 304-548-7101 for more information.
