Middles school is back rocking the house.
Panther steel cranks out the tunes

By Allen Hamrick Christmas music rang throughout the halls of Clay County’s schools this past week as band, choir and steel drum concerts were held to showcase the musical talents and boost holiday spirit. Clay Middle School held its annual concert on Thursday night for the community to enjoy as well as both a band and choir performance during school on the same day for students and staff to be able to share in the festivity. The band, under the direction of Mr. Doug Wayne, performed nontraditional songs of Christmas as well as specialty pieces, including Mechanical Monsters by Randall D. Standridge. the direction of Kristie Keiffer, performed Urban Spics and Carol of the Pans. The CCMS Choir, under the direction of Mrs. Tracy Wayne, sang their hearts out with nontraditional Christmas music from Festive Hodie and Holiday Road of Carols, along with a soul stirring rendition of On a Starlit Night. All three groups work hard all year to prepare for their public performances. Thank you to the bands and choir students for your hard work and excellent performances; we look forward to the next show!
