Skiley Wilmoth gets two the easy way.

By Allen Hamrick The Lady Mustangs hosted the Webster Highlanders last week and officially took the wind out of their bagpipes. Once the Lady Mustangs got rolling and found their groove, their game came alive. Both teams wanted a win, and it showed, but by the time the Lady Highlanders knew what hit them, it was too late. Defense became the rule as the Lady Mustangs turned up the heat on their press and put an end to the hopes of a win for Lady Highlanders. Underneath the hoop, the Lady Mustangs out squeezed the ball and were monsters on the boards. The big money players took it to the streets and ran the Lady Highlanders back to the hills in an all out assault on the boards. When the music stopped playing and the castle doors were closed, it was the Lady Mustangs on top by the score of 36-13. This game was yet another example of great basketball from the Lady Mustangs who schooled the Lady Highlanders for four periods. The Lady Mustangs were all over the boards on offense, and Skiley Wilmoth was a dead eye hitting for 19 points.

Ariel Dobbins sinks three points.
Jayda Stricker was on the fast break.

The Ladies were on the road in Spencer where they lost a barn burner by one point to the Lady Yellow Jackets of Spencer. If the game isn’t affected by weather or illness, the girls will be on the road at Webster on December 20th. After that, it will be January 5th with a home game against Spencer. If you get a little chilled and feel a cold coming on, it is probably basketball fever and the only known cure is Mustang and Lady Mustang basketball.
