28th Hagar School Reunion held in Ovapa

The annual Hagar Grade School Reunion was held September 2, 2017, at the Fellowship Hall of the Bethel United Methodist Church at Ovapa. It was a lovely September day, with a mizzling rain at times, which didn’t dampen the spirits of former students and friends who gathered there.

A large crowd assembled there for our 28th reunion, with much reminiscing and talking over school days and old times. It was a bittersweet time however, with faces missing who had attended in times past. Those who have passed on included Wanitta Oxley Gray, Harland (Doc) Walls, Margaret Ann Putt Spencer, Wayne Haynes, Myrtle Belle Brown Arbogast and Emogene King Samples. They are greatly missed.

Unfortunately, we don’t have a lot of the addresses of those attending, but will print those we do have. Those attending were: Sylvia Hope Brown Summers of Ovapa, Dorma Walls, Carol Walls and Jenny, Clyde Salyers, Bill Chandler, Steve Summers, Nancy Spencer;  Michael and Peggy Bragg, Jeremy Bragg, Dorian Bragg, Colleen LeMasters and Donovan Craft all of Winfield, David Bragg, Lexi Bragg and Shorty (Harland) Walls.

Also attending were: Tawny and Linda White Boggs of Rupert, Jerry Samples, Sandy White Potasnik of Ovapa, Mary Samples, Keyota Jarvis, Paul Hopkins II and Jerry (Dink) and Bonnie King White all of Ovapa, Hope McKown Slack, Betty McKown Haynes, Frances White of Ovapa, David White, Quincy Potasnik, Curtis Mitchell, Sparrow Potasnik Reiter, Cameron Mitchell, Angie and JaedynWalker of Ovapa and Jack and June White McCracken.

Others were:  Oliver (Sonny) Arbogast of Elkview, and Kay Smith, Kenny Boggess, George and Lorraine Rose, Patty Bragg Haynes, Jeuell Beth Everson Igo and Alyce Faye O’Dell Bragg all of Ovapa.

If anyone’s name was omitted, we apologize—everyone may have not signed the book.  We hope that all who attended this year will return next year, and those who didn’t attend will come.  It was great!
