One knows it is time for Little League action when you can hear the screams of fans and the crack of bats a mile away from the Dundon ball field. Such was the case this past week when it was Super Saturday time. The sun was high in the air, and it was a beautiful day. I stopped after crossing Dundon bridge, rolled down the window and listened closely to the sounds. Teams from all over the county participated in their first games of the season. The baseball field was full of players and so was the softball field. As far as the eye could see, fans were sitting around the fields, on the railroad tracks and hotdogs were being served. It was a perfect day. Kicking off the day was Valley Fork Minor and Procious Minor teams on the baseball field and Minor Rapp and Minor Johnson teams on the softball field. It was all out ball and the kids give a hundred percent to the cause. Games were played all day and there was much great ball playing. Both the minor and major leagues will be in action this week so check your schedules or you can go to www.claylittleleague.com, all the information will be there. Come on out and support the youth in this county. A big pat on the back goes out to those individuals who either donated money and / or their time to getting the baseball fields and softball fields in pristine condition for these kids. Summer is coming and it’s time for baseball, Little League style.
