Greg Fitzwater took his oath of office on Tuesday

In front of family, friends and supporters, Greg Fitzwater stood beside his father Carmel and family friend Larissa Young, raised his hand and swore to serve the people of Clay County. Administered by the Honorable Judge Alsop, Greg took the oath to support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of West Virginia as well as faithfully discharge his duties as a commissioner to the best of his skill and judgment. With a lifetime of experience in public service, Greg’s new role as County Commissioner will begin a different chapter in his life. Although the job will prove challenging, Greg’s knowledge will be beneficial in making decisions for the people within county. Neither Commissioner Linkinoggor or Tucker were able to attend Fitzwater’s ceremony, but assure the citizens that they will work together as a group to serve the county in the best way possible. With his term officially beginning on January 1, Greg will join Commissioners Linkinoggor and Tucker behind the bench on January 14 for the first County Commission meeting of 2015.
