Jordan Lucas signs on the dotted line as Coach Ware and his family look on.

Jordan Lucas has meant a lot to the football program in this county. Jordan is now a Senior with his Panther years behind him, and has signed with the Alderson Broaddus University Battlers. Here, he will take his running skills to the next level. Jordan is the epitome of hard work and dedication and has shown this on and off the field. He has ran for the football fans of this county for a long time and has grown into a man with purpose. Clay County has been fortunate to have youth who have a desire to succeed and a work ethic to go along with it. He disciplined himself to fortify his principles and his passion for football. He now has the opportunity to take his game to new ground and make a difference on another team.

His career at CCHS as a Panther was nothing short of epic. He had 4,183 rushing yards and averaged a little over 7 yards per rush. He crossed into the end zone 44 times. He was named Defensive Player of the year his Freshman year as well as Interception Leader and Honorable Mention LKC. He was the statistical yards leader his Sophomore year and moved up to Second Team LKC. His Junior year was a big one; he rushed for 1,497 yards breaking the school record held by running great Grayson Hamrick. He was the Eyewitness News Scholar Athlete of the Week and was team captain his Senior year. Even with all these honors, Jordan attributes his success to his family and to his team because without them behind him every step of the way, he would not be where he is today. We wish Jordan Lucas all the best, and many of us will be AB Battler fans. Thanks for all the good years at CCHS. You made football fun to watch, and your shoes will be hard to fill.
