The Panther baseball team went 1 for 2 this week and are getting back on track.  They had four games scheduled this week, but the rain put a damper on two of those games.  However, the Dots of Poca came to town figuring on taking shots at the Panthers, but it was not to be.  Freshman Matt Boggs took the high ground and proceeded to go to work.  He went five innings with four strikeouts, two walks, and the Dots scored one run.  Boggs is well known for his English lessons on the mound, and is tough to hit against as the Dots found out.  Jarred Legg and Colten Moore came in, in relief, with Moore getting the save.  This night was a good win, but it was more than that for one man, head coach Brian Holcomb.  Coach Holcomb, in eight seasons as the head coach, has coached some of the best players that come out of CCHS.  Holcomb has always been a coach with a desire to win and has instilled that in his players to not only make them better baseball players but better men as well.  With that being said, this win was a milestone for Coach Holcomb – it was the 100th win of his coaching career.  The seniors, along with parents, presented their head coach with a plaque to commemorate the event.  Congratulations to Brian Holcomb, and now on to a hundred more.
