The Panthers defeated Midland Trail 6-2, and Sherman 7-6, and really got the bats going against Richwood and beat them 16-1.
The toughest matchup of the week was against Sherman. The Panthers had the lead going in the fifth inning, but errors let Sherman come back and go ahead of the Panthers going into the seventh inning by the score of 5-6.
With the pressure on, the Panthers came out and took care of business. Some clutch batting got the potential runs on base, and Thomas Haverty drove them in to win the game by the score of 7-6.
The Panthers have a solid team with some good pitching and can be a force to reckon with, but their bats have to stay hot and they must put a hold on the errors. The state tournament road is a hard road to haul on, but the Panthers are primed with talent.
Get out and catch a game.
