The Panther baseball team went two for three this week and is getting back on track. With just three games left in the season, the Panthers seem to have settled in a groove.
After dropping the first game of the week against Buffalo where they lost 2-7, the Panthers upped their game. They were back at home against the tough Wirt County.
Wirt got on the boards quick in the first two periods going ahead by three runs. The Panthers put the brakes on their scoring by the third inning, picked up their offense and got on the boards by the third inning scoring three runs and tying the game. When the smoke cleared, it was the Panthers squeaking by Wirt 6-5. Then the Panthers hit the road to Doddridge County where they handed Doddridge their bats beating them 4-1.
The Panthers will be busy this week at home and on the road. They start at home Monday night with a match against South Harrison; it will also be senior night as some of the best to hit the baseball diamond will be leaving for other venues.
They will also be at Nicholas on May 7th and at Capitol on May 8th to finish off the season before tournament play. Go Panthers!
