Mustangs fall hard to Madison

The Mustangs took it on the chin in a game against Madison Middle on Thursday evening. The Mustangs have had a good year so far and due to COVID-19 had to go searching for a game to play.

Madison Middle came into the game looking like the old Chicago Bears with nothing but a win on their minds. In some games, no matter how good you play, you have to catch a break, and the Mustangs caught none. The boys played hard, but the team seemed to take two steps back for every one gained, and it’s tough to win at that pace.  However, they were in the hunt every play of the game but just couldn’t find the scoring scent.  The Mustangs couldn’t get the offense rolling against Madison, and the defense just couldn’t seem to figure out the Madison running offense.  It looked like it would be easier to win the Kentucky Derby on a set of crutches than for the Mustangs pull out a win on this night.

Mistakes will cost a team, and the cost was touchdowns.   When the smoke cleared, it was Madison on top by the score of 62-14.  There will not be a game this week, but they will have a make-up game against Ravenswood next Monday evening as long as they are allowed to play.  The Mustangs will have some figuring to do before the game, and, hopefully, the magic will be unleashed next Monday night night.  Go Mustangs!
