Monday, May 5th, was senior night for the Panther baseball team, and for six players, it would be the last season they would play as Panthers before moving on to bigger things. This night would prove to be a tough one, but the Panthers got the job done in front of the home crowd.
The golden rays of the evening sun hit the field, and it was the perfect night for baseball. South Harrison came to town figuring on cutting another notch into their bat for a win against the Panthers.
The Panthers hadn’t done well against South Harrison but they were ready to put an end to that. Before the game got underway, coaches and parents hit the field with their seniors; Bobby Rogers, Ayden Brown, Noah Collins, Mason Jarvis, Landon Elliott and Trent Gibson took the field one last time for the event. Each one of these players has dedicated themselves to giving a hundred percent to Panther Baseball.
They will be missed on the field. South Harrison led the game for most of the innings until the Panthers opened up in the final inning and turned the game around for the 3-2 win. This brought the Panther record to 9-9. They took on the Grizzlies of Nicholas afterwards and took a hit on the chin losing the matchup 4-12.
The Panthers will be back in action on Monday night against Buffalo at Buffalo game time 6 p.m.
