The CCMS Lady Mustangs had one of those weeks that they wish they could have back – losing is not something this group of girls is used to. They have been playing some great volleyball, winning more and losing some with a stronger percentage of wins, but… Something happened in the game against the South Harrison Lady Hawks that would make a fan scratch their head.
Win or lose the Lady Mustangs give full attention to the game all the time, but Halloween came early to the Lady Mustang court. The game started much as anticipated, and it was full on volleyball, at least for the Lady Hawks.
Whatever voodoo The Lady Mustangs were hit with, they just couldn’t seem to find that groove that the Lady Mustangs are noted for. It was a rough outing to say the least, these Lady Mustangs have the talent and the grit, but something was off. It was like watching a turtle climb a brick building, no matter how hard they tried they just couldn’t get a grip.
It was over pretty quickly; the Lady Mustangs were defeated 9-25 and 11-25. Every team has a nightmare game at times, and it was just the Lady Mustangs’ number that was called for their nightmare matchup. This game is no reflection of how good the Lady Mustangs are or how well they play, it was just one of those games the Lady Mustangs would love to have a redo. They play Spencer again at home on Oct. 5 and Braxton at home on Oct. 7. If you get the chance, get out and support the CCMS volleyball team. Go Lady Mustangs!!!
