Stop Talking and Start Going?

And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, ‘Let us go up at once and possess it for we are well able to overcome it.’ Numbers 13:30.

This verse signifies a very special time for the children of Israel. They had been delivered from slavery, protected and provided for on their journey, and now they have reached the edge of the promised land. Believers will never have to live in the wilderness but we may have to walk through it. In verses 26-29, we read about the spies made a good report of the land but ten of them feared the giants who lived there.

Caleb charge the people to face their fears and put their trust in God. It’s time to stop talking and start going. Caleb challenged them to move forward. Caleb stilled the people before Moses. Stop talking and start going. He stopped their negative talk and their belly-aching. He expected harmony and no hesitation in claiming what God promised. He says for them to possess it for we are able to overcome it. Caleb knew that the Israelites were a vocal bunch who did not hide their feelings. They seemed to complain all the time. See Numbers Chapter 11. They were known to say things like, we’re hungry, we’re thirsty and why did Moses lead us out of Egypt? Caleb did not let the negativity stop them from what God intended for them. We must learn from this example in today’s church. We need not be so timid and faithless. It is time that we believe on God’s promises and move ahead? Stand as Caleb did!  When others see big giants, big armies, and a little God do as Caleb and see a BIG GOD and little giants. Yes God is a BIG GOD, but he also loves us and cares for us. Folks it is time as believers we stop pretending, stop talking and start going! God is with us, he helps us, and comforts us.

You cannot live wrong and die right.
