Walter Alan Boggs

Walter Alan Boggs passed away at Rockland Ridge Nursing Home, Belpre, Ohio on February 15, 2023.

He was born July 2, 1938, at Big Otter, West Virginia, son of Walter and Minnie Delaney Boggs.

He was a member of Vanderhoof Baptist Church, Coolville, OH where he served as Deacon for many years, as well as the fifth and sixth grade teacher for Sunday School. He was a retired teacher from Wood County, WV, teaching elementary students at both Tygart and Franklin Schools. He served as President of WCEA before retiring in June of 1998.

He survived by his wife, Leanna Moore Boggs; children, Norma Cooper (Jerry), Bryan Boggs, and Jacqueline Boggs (Tom Hale); grandchildren, Dina Boggs Comb (Beth), Britney Boggs Smith (Sean) and Devan Boggs (Andrea Horner), and Owen and Olivia Hale; great- grandchildren Lennon and Louie Combs; one great-great grandson Wyatt Smith; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James and Darrell Boggs; his sisters, Leoma Short, Jean Baker, and Louetta Fields (Harald); and his daughter-in-law, Diamond Jaconetti Boggs.

Graveside services were held at the Boggs Cemetery, Clay County, with Rev. Daniel Tanner officiating, at 1:00 p.m. on February 22, 2023.

The family would like to thank all those at Rockland Nursing Home, Belpre, OH for their wonderful care of Walter Alan over the past year.

Alan was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
