Sandra Kay Gill

Sandra Kay Gill, 71, of Duck, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023 at home surrounded by her family. 

She was born July 7, 1951 in Charleston, WV to the late Romas Jefferson Laxton and Margaret Jean Duncan Laxton.

Sandy was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, Stephen Blaine Gill, and her brother, Ernie Laxton.

A homemaker, she loved her family and enjoyed being around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She liked to watch television and her favorite shows were Murder She Wrote, Monk, and Little House On The Prairie. She will be truly missed. 

Sandy’s memory will be cherished by her daughters, Stephanie Gray and husband Gary of Duck, and Tanya Hall and husband Dwayne of Sutton; six grandchildren; two brothers; and five sisters. She is also survived by her ten great-grandchildren and one expecting great-grandson; several nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews. 

Her funeral service was 1 P.M. Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway with Gary Gray officiating.  Interment followed in the Gill Cemetery, Harrrison. 

Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. 

Special thanks to Kanawha Hospice of Charleston for their compassionate care of Sandy.
