Virginia Gay Tucker Burleson

Brownsville – Virginia Gay Tucker Burleson, 73, of Brownsville went home to Jesus and her family on January 22, 2015.

She was preceded in death by her parents James and Nina (Thompson) Tucker; 3 brothers, Amos, Ray and Bob Tucker; 3 sisters Myrtle Pritt, Anna-Lou Auxier and Elva Williams.
Surviving are her husband of 32 years, Harry Burleson of Brownsville; 2 daughters, Nina (Tucker) Bess and her husband, David of Hugheston and Tina Tucker of Lizemores; a granddaughter, Amy Elizabeth Bess; step-son, Lester Burleson and his wife, Bonnie of Raleigh, NC; 2 step-grandchildren, Amanda (Burleson) Elliott and her husband, Chris of Franklinton, NC and Matthew Burleson of Raleigh, NC; a step great-grandson, Ryder Elliott; and a brother, Charles Tucker.

Gay loved to laugh and make people laugh. She worked with elderly in home care for several years.

Services took place at 1 PM on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Pennington Funeral Home, Gauley Bridge, with the Reverend Charles Blankenship officiating. Burial followed in Montgomery Memorial Park, London.

Family received friends 2 hours prior to the service.
