Robert Leo McClain

Robert Leo McClain, 79, of Newton, passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston.

He was born December 6, 1937 at Elana, Roane County, a son of the late Vernon Randolph and Dorma Maxine Morris McClain. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Roger McClain.

Leo was a retired employee of Pennzoil. He was a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church and the Linden Lodge No. 83, A.F. & A.M.

Survivors include his wife, Erma Lee McClain; daughter, Tammy Cook; son, Robert Scott McClain; four grandchildren, Justin Cook, Jonathon Cook, Brittany McClain and Emily Hersman; three great grandchildren, Layla, Josiah and Tucker Cook.

A graveside service was held Friday, November 24 in the Zion Hill Cemetery, Elana, with the Rev. Ron Fisher officiating. There was no visitation.

Memorial donations are preferred to either the Zion Hill Baptist Church or the Zion Hill Cemetery.
