Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day.

Robby John Douglas, 35, of Clay, WV, unexpectedly passed away with his beloved cousin, John Eric Douglas, in a tragic car accident on October 12, 2017. He was the loving partner of Frankie Kerr. They shared four and a half happy years together.

Born in Charleston, WV, he was the son of the late David and Susie (Wilmoth) Douglas. He graduated from Clay County High School and attended Glenville State College. He worked as a medical equipment delivery driver and technician as well as other occupations over the years.

He was a talented guitar player and avid hunter. He loved the outdoors, growing up and living on the Elk River all his life. He loved his time with his 3-year-old son, Easton. They had just started shooting bb guns this summer. Robby loved to make people laugh and had many friends who he loved and he was loved by all. He will be remembered for his smile that lit up the room.

He is survived by his loving partner, Frankie Kerr; son, Easton James Laughlin Douglas; sister Rachel Fredeking, brother-in-law Jacob Fredeking, and nephews Roman and Leo of Charleston; grandmothers, Maysel Salisbury of Clay and Virginia Cook of Ivydale.

The funeral service was held Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home, Clay, with Minister Brent Wiley officiating.

At a later date, Robby’s ashes will be buried with his mother and father at the Metheny Cemetery, Moorefork Road, Big Otter, WV.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to  Easton’s education fund. Contact Rachel Fredeking. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.carlwilsonfuneralhome.com.

Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Douglas family.
