Richard Lee Garvin, 46, of Wallback, passed away suddenly on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at his residence.

He was born August 26, 1971 in Summersville, WV, to Carol Smallwood Garvin Skinner and the late Ronald Garvin. Preceding him in death is his brother, Jimmie Demastus, Jr., sister, Crystal Dawn Garvin, step-father, Leonard Skinner, and grandparents, Elmer & Esel Smallwood and Joe and Nellie Garvin.

Richard was a dedicated member of Braxton County Emergency Medical Services for 10 years. He dearly loved working in the community and working with his EMS family.

Left to cherish his memory is his companion, Kim Short of Wallback, mother, Carol Smallwood Garvin Skinner of Diana, WV, sons, Richard Lee Garvin, II, (Cathy) of Diana, R.J. Garvin (Hayle Moore) and Cory Scott Garvin all of Little Birch, and Jeffrey Garvin of Ireland, WV, daughter, Katlyn Nicole Garvin of Ireland and grandsons, Richard Noah Garvin and Colton Gage Garvin.

Funeral services were held 1:00 pm, Monday, September 4, 2017 at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton, with Rev. Homer Gibson officiating. Burial followed at Garvin Family Cemetery, Diana, WV. Friends called from 6-9 p.m. on Sunday, September 3, at the funeral home.
