Euhl B. Shaffer

The service of remembrance for Mr. Euhl B. Shaffer, age 91, of Inverness, FL, was held Friday, August 18, 2017, at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.

He was born September 7, 1925 in Procious, WV, son of the late Wilbur and Vilda (Drake) Shaffer. He died August 8, 2017 in Inverness, FL. Mr. Shaffer was an Army Veteran serving during World War II. He worked as a pipe fitter for Union Carbide Chemical for 33 years and moved to Inverness, Florida from Clay, West Virginia in 1981. Mr. Shaffer was a POW for five and a half months in Germany during the Battle of Bulge. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church and the American Legion in both West Virginia and Florida. His hobbies included gardening and loving his children and grandkids.

Mr. Shaffer was preceded in death by his parents and son, Charles Allen Shaffer. Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Norma Shaffer, of Inverness, FL, two daughters, Donna Schoonover and her husband of Danville, VA, and Brenda Kay Graham and her husband of Eddie of Clifton Forger, VA, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of memorial donations to Blessings in Backpack, at Citrus County Blessings, P.O. Box 2253 Inverness, FL 33451.
