Paul E. Douglas, 61, of Ivydale, died peacefully on Thursday, September 7, 2017, at Hospice of Medina County after a 32 month long courageous battle with brain cancer.

He was a 1974 graduate of Cloverleaf High School. Paul retired from Ford Motor Company having worked at the Brook Park Plant and later worked at SMH Construction in Ivydale.  He attended Big Otter Baptist Church in Ivydale; he enjoyed fishing, hunting and four wheeling and following the Browns, Mountaineers, Cavs, Indians and Buckeyes. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and his grandchildren.

In addition to his mother; Paul is survived by his wife, Nancy (Friend) Douglas of Ivydale; daughter, Heather Hohn of Wadsworth; step-daughters, Crissy Summers and Kelly Paxton both of Ivydale; grandchildren, Tyler Gentry, Alexis and Tommy Hohn and Seth and Asia Summers; sisters, Suzy, Cindy and Hope all of Ohio.

A funeral service was held on Monday, September 11, 2017, at Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home, Clay, with Minister Danny Richardson officiating.

In lieu of flowers please sent donations to St. Jude Children’s Research or Big Otter Baptist Church. On-line condolences may be sent to the family at www.carlwilsonfuneralhome.com. Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Douglas family.
