Patricia “Patsy” Ann (Fitzwater) Meredith, 71, of West Columbia, WV, formerly of Ravenswood, WV, entered into Heaven on Friday, May 12, 2023 surrounded by her wonderful, caring, nursing staff of Lakin Hospital.
She was born October 27, 1951 in Clay, WV, a daughter of the late Henry Edsel and Elsie Catherine (Ghee) Fitzwater. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sue Lemaster.
She was a 1970 graduate of Ravenswood High School. She was a homemaker and stay at home mother. She enjoyed baking and was an excellent cook who learned from her mother. Patsy grew up in the Wilding community where she attended the Wilding United Methodist Church and became a member. She enjoyed singing in the church and as part of the Fitzwater Family Singers she sang at revivals and church homecomings in Jackson County. She was a member of the Wilding Wildcats 4-H Club.
Survivors include her children, John and Karissa Meredith of Ripley and Scottie Meredith of Ravenswood; grandchildren, Nikolas and Peyton Meredith and Corey, Maciah, Kolton, Connor Meredith; sisters, Sharon (Jim) Harris of Wilding and Henrietta (Rick) Lemaster of Wilding; brother, Junior Fitzwater of Ravenswood. She is also survived by a host of family and friends.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Ravenswood Cemetery with Rev. Mike Ludle officiating. Visitation was from 12 o’clock noon until 1:45 p.m. Saturday at Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV. A procession left the funeral home for the graveside service following the visitation.
