Oleda Pearl (Adkins) Walker
Dixie, WV – Oleda Pearl (Adkins) Walker, 83, of Dixie, WV, passed away on May 19, 2015, at Montgomery General Elderly Care.
Born on December 8, 1931, in Maysel, WV, she was the daughter of the late Andy and Dana (Mullins) Adkins of Bentree, WV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Curtis T. Walker and two brothers, Albert and Wilbert.
Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Sue and her husband, Joe “Terry” Baker of Lizemores; two granddaughters and their husbands, Tara and Todd Nelson of Barboursville, and Crystal and Ezra Schoolcraft of Scott Depot; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn “Faith” Nelson, Lacey “Hope” Nelson, Addison “Grace” Schoolcraft, Hadley “Joy“ Schoolcraft and Isaac Garrett Schoolcraft; sisters, Lucille Thomas of Dixie, Linda (Kellis) Osborne of Lizemores, Gladys Walker of Chester, WV; brothers, Gilbert (Carole) Adkins of Maineville, OH and Eddie Adkins of Sheffield Lake, OH and sister-in-law, Donna Jean Adkins of Oak Hill.
Pearl was a “faithful”, charter member of 68 years at the Ida Missionary Baptist Church.
She was a homemaker that loved quilting, embroidery, planting flowers and cooking.
Funeral service will be 2 pm Friday, May 22, 2015, at Pennington Funeral Home, Gauley Bridge, with Pastor Larry Skaggs officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens, Victor, WV
The family would like to thank Montgomery General Hospital, Extended Care, MGH Elderly Care, Dr. Atassi, and especially special nurse Peggy Smith for their outstanding care.
