Duck, WV – Melodie Kay McCune, 59, of Duck, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 6, 2016 after a year-long battle with cancer.
Born on May 4, 1956, in Lorain, Ohio, she was the daughter, of the late Charles and Violet (Sandor) Trinemeyer. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Charles Trinemeyer Jr.
Melodie was a 1974 graduate, of Marion L. Steele High School. She briefly attended Kenyon College to pursue a degree in visual arts. After school, she worked at US Steel for 18 years as an inspector and safety captain in its Rolling Mill Conditioning Department, where she ran the United Way program. Melodie also worked at Avon Lake Animal Clinic.
Melodie enjoyed cooking, baking and had a love for animals. She loved being around her friends and family.
Melodie is survived by her husband of 34 years, Charlie L. McCune of Duck; her children, Phillip Paul Steffani Jr. of Trenton, N.J., Steven Charles McCune of Lorain, Ohio, Crystal Lynn McCune Hunt of Columbus, Ohio, Amy Jo McCune Berry of Medina, Ohio, Eric Charles McCune of Cincinnati, Ohio; nine grandchildren and siblings: Risë Davis of Avon, Ohio, Daniel Trinemeyer of Amherst, Ohio, Eric Trinemeyer of Tennessee and William Trinemeyer.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home, Clay, with Minister Wayne Litton officiating.  Burial will be in Grey Cemetery, Harrison.
Friends may call 2 hours prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
The family is planning a memorial service at a later date in Lorain, OH. The family wishes that donations be made to, either, the David Lee Cancer Research Center in Charleston, WV or the Lorain County Animal Protective League in Ohio.
