Maysel — Lewis William Friend, 87, of Maysel, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2017.
Born September 19, 1929, in Clay County, he was the son of the late Levy and Clemmie (Rogers) Friend. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers; and one sister.
Lewis was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was awarded the Korea service medal for his service. He was very proud of the fact that his father, three brothers and himself had all served their country.
He was a member of the Clay Masonic Lodge for many years, and the Eastern Star. Lewis was retired carpenter and cabinet maker.
Lewis is survived by his wife, Olive (Bullard) Friend; one sister, Rosalie Moore; and several nieces and nephews.
At his request, there will no services.
