Spencer, WV – James L. “Jim” Ward, 69, of Spencer, died Saturday, January 23, 2016 at his home.
He was born July 9, 1946 at Montgomery, a son of the late George E. and Dorothea Sizemore Ward.
Jim was a retired program coordinator for the State of West Virginia. He was a 1964 graduate of Clay County High School. Jim earned his Bachelor’s Degree from West Virginia Institute of Technology and his Master’s Degree from Marshall University. He was Chairman of the Clover Public Service District and a Board Member of the Clover Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Louise A. Ward of Spencer; son, Trenton L. Ward of Orlando, Fla.; and brother, Glen Ward of Bridgeport; two nephews and one niece.
A funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 30 at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Randy Whited officiating. Burial was in the Clover Cemetery, Clover.
