Garrett “Dale” Deems Sr., born August 26, 1949, went to the arms of Jesus November 13, 2021 at age 72.  Jesus called him home so peacefully, surrounded by his family as he had always hoped he would.

He is survived by his wife Debra Deems who he has loved for 53 years; his children Dale Deems Jr. (Alice Walls), Sandy Burdette (Doug Burdette), Sherry Matheson (Bob Owens), Davey Deems (Jaime Deems), and Pamela Deems; grandchildren Rekayah Dennis, Niki Neff, Haily Miller, Luke Deems, Madeline Matheson, Olivia Matheson, Allison Matheson, Caleb Burdette, Silas Burdette, Emilee Deems, Mallory Deems, and Sawyer Deems; and great-grandchildren Bristal Miller, Aiden Neff, and Holden Neff.

The last few years of his life were dedicated to serving God.  He made sure that everyone he talked to heard about the love and grace of God.  His wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his only earthly treasures.  He spent his life providing for and guiding his family.

Services were held on November 17, 2021 at the Mt. Olive Community Church located on Pumpkin Ridge with Rev. Paul Allen officiating.  Viewing was from 11-12, with the funeral from 12 to 1 p.m. followed directly by burial at the Sam’s cemetery on Pumpkin Ridge.
