Dorothy Mae “Dot” West

Dixie, WV – Dorothy Mae “Dot” West, 63, of Dixie passed away on Monday, December 16, 2013, at CAMC General Division in Charleston.

Born August 25, 1950, in Montgomery, she is the daughter of Fred Ernest Burleson of Kanawha City and the late Velma (Kincaid) Burleson.

Dot was a member of the Bell Creek Missionary Baptist Church of Dixie and a Retired Pharmacy Technician.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ernie Burleson.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Arden West of Dixie; daughter, Lori Atkins (James); grandsons, Colby and Corbin Atkins all of Charlton Heights; sisters, Lynn West (Robert) of Bentree and Reva Jenkins of Boomer; 2 nieces, 1 nephew, 1 great-niece, 5 great-nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

Services were held at Pennington Funeral Home, Gauley Bridge, on Thursday, December 19, 2013, at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Charles Blankenship and Pastor Shane Wynn officiating. Burial followed at Sunset Cemetery in Bickmore.
