Charleston, WV – Dana Michael Norfolk, 42, of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, following a long illness.
Dana had a caring, giving, compassionate and selfless heart. During his time here he served on both the Rand and Clay County volunteer fire departments. He donated a lot of time to working as a volunteer at several charities in the community.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank Dawson of Charleston and Mary Dawson of Rand.
Dana is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Dockery of Oak Leaf, Texas; mother, Debra Sams, and stepfather, Jerry Sams, of Charleston; sister, Jenny Miller of St. Albans; brother, Nathan Norfolk of Frederick, Md.; stepsisters, Amanda Turley of Clendenin and Marsha Lesher of Doylestown, Ohio; seven nieces; and three nephews.
A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at Diamond Baptist Church, Diamond, with the Rev. Rick Pursley officiating.
