Indore, WV – Carolyn Dawn Osborne Gray, 79, of Indore, entered into rest Friday, January 17, 2014.
Born May 5, 1934 at Indore, she was the daughter of the late Tom and Lizzie (Moore) Osborne. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two grandsons and several beloved brothers and sisters.
She was a cook for the old doughnut shop at Maysel; she also cooked and drove a bus for the Head Start Program. She was a member of Sycamore Missionary Community Baptist Church. Mrs. Gray was a third generation Cherokee descendent of Seaberry Arms and Soleman Osborne, she also was a featured actress in the outdoor drama, Soleman’s Secret for 14 years as Autumn Breeze, her Cherokee name.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Lowell Gray of Indore, daughters, Connie (Robert) Carte of Indore, Linda (Bob) Bess if San Mateo, FL., Melanie (Eric) Moore of Indore, Sandy (Thomas) Eagle of New Lexington, OH., Lisa (Jerry) Roat of Indore, 12 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, brother, Lennis Osborne of Indore, sister, Ruby Mace Pritt of Albion, NY., best friend, Stephanie Price, special recognition to son-in-laws, Carlos Duncan, Richard Bartsch and Ronnie Jarrett.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Sycamore Missionary Community Baptist Church, Indore, with Minister Mike Holcomb officiating. Burial will be in the Gray Upper Sycamore Cemetery, Indore.
