There will be a Barbecue Sale on Saturday, December 2, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Ivydale United Methodist Church, located across bridge in Ivydale. Eat in or take out. Barbecue Dinner is barbecue, slaw, macaroni salad, chips, dessert OR sold separately. Hunters welcome.
The Birch River PSD will hold its regular monthly meeting on Friday, November 10, at 9 a.m., at the PSD office’s new location in Birch River, across the road from the old site.
There will be a revival at Burke Methodist Church, across from the new Camp Creek bridge at Procious, from November 6 through November 11. Evangelists Clarence Deel and Kenneth Tanner will be speaking, and there will be special singing each night. On Nov. 6 the Straight and Narrow will be at 7 p.m., on Nov. 7 the Fellowship Quartet will be at 7 p.m., on Nov. 8 the Burke Singers will be at 7 p.m., on Nov. 9 the Reamer Choir and Preachers Five will be at 7 p.m., on Nov. 10 the Brighterside Quartet will be at 7 p.m., and on Nov. 11 the Tanner Boys Quartet will be at 6 p.m. Come join in worship!

There will be a Dining with Diabetes program on November 6, 13, and 20 at 10 a.m. Call 304-587-4267 or 304-619-4804 to register, space is limited. This program is free and open to anyone with diabetes and their family members. Classes will include demonstrations on how to prepare meals that are healthy and use less fat, salt, and sugar without cutting taste. There will be an opportunity to taste a variety of main dishes, side dishes, and desserts. Dining with Diabetes is a research project that teaches individuals with diabetes and their families about better ways to prepare food that may improve their diabetes management. If you have diabetes, we will take your blood pressure and do a finger stick to test your A1c. These tests are free and you will receive the results during the class. You will also be asked to complete a questionnaire. Your participation in these activities is voluntary.

Join Clay Lion’s Club Bingo every other Monday evening, early bird at 6:30 p.m., regular time is 7 p.m. The Clay Lions Club Bingo is in jeopardy of closing down due to lack of players, which will also stop Clay High School scholarships each year. The meeting schedule for CAEZ board meetings in 2017 is as follows: Tuesday, Dec. 5. Meetings will be held in the Clay County Courthouse Commission Room. The Economic Development Committee meets at 4 p.m. and board of directors meets at 6 p.m.
CCDC/Clay Senior Center, located at 374 Main Street, announces that they will continue their free lunch for seniors ages 60+ on Thursdays from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. They invite any local talent to come sing, dance or do crafts with the seniors. For more information, call 304-587-2468.
The Clay County WIC office located at 452 Main Street in Clay is open to serve the public every Monday and Wednesday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. All Central WV WIC offices will be closed November 10 in observance of Veterans Day and November 23 and 24 for Thanksgiving.
