Clay VFW Post 4419 will host the Buddy Poppy Drive on Friday, May 25, at various Clay locations.  Come and receive a Buddy Poppy to honor all Veterans.  Any donations will be used to support activities of your local Post 4419.  We will be at different posts from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 28, at 7 p.m. at the Clay Senior Center and Nutrition Program Building.  Please come and join YOUR local VFW Organization, open to all men and women qualified as a Veteran of a foreign war!

  

Clay VFW Post 4419 will perform the Memorial Day Salute on Friday, May 25, at 8 a.m. in front of the Clay County Courthouse on Main Street.  Please come and honor all Veterans on this special day as we honor those who gave their lives for the United States of America.

  

Attention Clay County High School Alumni: Reservations have been made to meet and eat at Hardings Family Restaurant, 2772 Pennsylvania Ave, Charleston, on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at 12:30 p.m. Call a classmate and come. Reservations are under Christine Moore Beaver, 304-343-1460.

 

Guess who’s coming to town? Knickerbockers! On June 1 and 2 for $10 per family (one $10 certificate per household, please confirm spot before May 18). The $10 must be paid to get a certificate and to be added to the list. One $10 packet includes two 10×13, two 8×10, two 5×7, and eight wallet sized photos. If interested please contact Renee at 304-619-2797, Kristian at 304-880-0859 or 304-587-6005, or Pam at 304-380-4042. This is a fundraiser for the Bentree Community Church Youth Group.

 

CCDC/Clay Senior Center, located at 374 Main Street, announces that they will continue their free lunch for seniors ages 60+ on Thursdays from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. They invite any local talent to come sing, dance or do crafts with the seniors. For more information, call 304-587-2468.

The Clay County WIC office located at 452 Main Street in Clay is open to serve the public every Monday and Wednesday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. All central WIC offices will be closed May 28 for Memorial Day. WIC provides supplemental foods and nutrition education to qualifying participants. To apply for the WIC program or to receive more information call: 304-587-2323.
