Saturday was the final hoorah for the Mustang wrestling program this season as they participated in the Mona Lisa of wrestling tournaments, the middle school LKC Championship. The Mustangs have been in the hunt all season at tournaments and gave fans a reason to watch. This tournament would pit all the finest middle school programs in the region and all those at the top of the food chain. It was some of the most dramatic wrestling we have seen all season as wrestlers butted heads. The CCHS gym was packed as the wrestling began. It was to be a race at the end for a team championship. Matches would become critical mass and determine the final team score. In the end, the Mustangs did well but not as good as they had hoped. Williamstown was the champions followed by Ravenswood at 2nd and Spencer at 3rd. Congratulations to the coaches and the wrestlers for a great season. The Mustangs will be back in late fall and ready to hit the mats.
