Friday night was homecoming night for the Panthers, and the boys were to battle Richwood in front of the queen and her court. The game went well for the Panthers as they rolled over the Lumberjacks. In the first period they scored 23 points, and the Lumberjacks could not match them net for net. The Panthers won the game in front of the home crowd 66-35. Noah Collins was top shot with 18 points followed close by Joel Elliott with14. Earlier in the week, the Panthers had a rough time with both Braxton and Roane, dropping both games in the loss bucket. With the season coming to a close the Panthers will have a three game home stretch to close out the season going up against Poca, Calhoun, and Wahama. Come out and catch a game as they attempt to earn their way to the state competition.
Friday evening was also royalty time, a time for the princess from each class to grace the court with their presence. It was also time to crown the CCHS basketball homecoming queen for 2025. This year’s queen had poise and grace that caused her to be chosen by her peers as their queen. Kenzie Corwell, daughter of Trey and Sabrina Corwell, was crowned as the 2025 CCHS queen. Kenzie is well deserving of the title of CCHS Homecoming Queen. She was escorted by Noah Weaver along with crown bearer Oaklynn Lanham and her escort Chase Moore. Corwell’s court consisted of freshman princess Gabriella Cottrell escorted by Collin Lane, sophomore princess Dakota James escorted by Bryton Champ, junior princess Savannah George escorted by Michael Foster and senior princess Evelyn Young escorted by Lucas Vance. Congratulation to Queen Corwell, her court, class representatives and flag bearers.
