The Clay County Clerk’s Office is reporting the following unofficial totals for the Nov. 8 General Election:

U.S. House of Representatives:

Carol Miller (R) – 1,556 (150,859 district-wide) 

Lacy Watson (D) – 431 (65,064 district-wide)

Belinda Fox-Spencer (I) – 98 (10,194 district-wide)

State Senate: 

Mark Hunt (R) – 1,450 (14,568 district-wide)

Richard Lindsay (D) – 619 (11,071 district-wide)

House of Delegates: 

Roger Hanshaw (R) – 1,659 (3,966 district-wide)

Laura McGinnis (I) – 400 (899 district-wide)

Circuit Clerk:

Clarissa Hanshaw (D) – 1,263

H.C. “Bucky” Lewis IV (R) – 832

County Commissioner:

Joyce Shamblin Johnson (D) – 1,498

County Clerk:

Connie Workman (D) – 1,748

School Levy:

Against the Levy: 1,165

For the Levy: 972

Amendment 1: Against – 1,359, For – 693

Amendment 2: Against – 1,595, For – 552

Amendment 3: Against – 1,423, For – 653

Amendment 4: Against – 1,446, For – 688.

Statewide, the Secretary of State’s office shows all four proposed amendments to the West Virginia Constitution as failing with 57.8% of voters against Amendment 1, 64.6% against Amendment 2, 54.6% against Amendment 3, and 57.9% against Amendment 4 with 55/55 precincts reporting.
