The United Way of Central WV hosted a SunDae FunDae event on August 9th, 2015 on D Street, at the Mound in South Charleston, WV. It was a huge success with thousands of people in attendance to enjoy music, ice cream and entertainment. There were carnival games which were sponsored by Dow Chemical Company, Buffalo Wild Wings-Cross Lanes, Buffalo Wild Wings-Southridge, CASCI, City National Bank, West Virginia American Water, Highland Hospital, Sam’s Club, Kohls, WOWK-TV, Motley Rice LLC & The Sutter Law Firm PLLCA in conjuction with West Virginia Association for Justice and West Law Firm.
Some of the activities that were available for the children and families were balloon animals, face painting, caricature art, the South Charleston High School cheerleaders performed, there was a money machine sponsored by City National Bank, and so many more. There were also characters in attendance including Mickey Mouse, Spongebob, Sophia and Olaf who were sponsored by South Charleston CVB; Batman, Cat-woman and Spiderman from Heroes 4 Hire, sponsored by Bristol Broadcasting. Kroger Midway provided popcorn, cotton candy, snow cones, and IB Poppin’s famous kettle corn. Qdoba and Papa John’s was also there providing food.
Admission was a $1 donation per person and a $5 donation for a family for up to 10 people. All proceeds will benefit United Way of Central WV as it funds 29 local social service agencies throughout Boone, Clay, Kanawha, Logan and Putnam counties.
