Clay Middle School Band Camp
Clay Middle School Band Camp

Clay County’s junior virtuosos are putting the beat back into the music as Clay Middle School completed their annual summer band camp this week. Under the direction of Doug Wayne, 7th and 8th grade marching band students worked each morning to improve their tone, rhythm and marching abilities. The main focus of this week’s training was to practice for the upcoming Mustang football season. This year, the CCMS band will open all home games with the playing of the Star Spangled Banner as well as perform a variety of recognizable tunes from the stands. 7th grader Maria Collins encourages everyone to attend this year’s football games, saying “People should really come watch us play. We are going to be awesome.” The hard work and talent of these young musicians will be evident once you hear the band perform. Come support the Mustangs during their first home football game on Thursday, September 17 at 6:00 pm.
