Lots of screams, thrills, and fun were had in Bomont, WV this week.

H.E. White Elementary’s new VISTA worker, Christina Belt, put together a wonderful Trunk Or Treat on Tuesday, October 23, for the parent teacher confrence.  Parents were lined up in the parking lot to treat the children as they arrived in their costumes. The best trunk or treat was awarded to Belinda Midkiff with her spooky tailgate. The kiddos had a great time getting treats and checking out all the decorated cars.

The annual H.E. White carnival was held on Saturday, October 27, and it didn’t disappoint.  With a haunted trail for the older kids to enjoy and a fun hayride for the little ones, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Hundreds of kids came out to enjoy the games and win prizes. The night started off with a costume contest, kids lined up to show off their most original, scariest, cutest, and funiest costumes. The baking contest is a fun way for community members to show off their cake decorating skills. This years winners were Betty Gandee and Brooke Cliver.

As the kids played, ate yummy Halloween treats, and participated in numerous activites, they anxiously awaited the announcment of the prince and princess’ for their classes and the king and queen of the carnival to be anounced.  The winners were chosen from each class with the king and queen being chosen from fifth grade.  It was a great time had by all who attneded and the PTO is making preperations to make next year even better.
