This Detroit born singer was hailed as “The First Lady of Motown.” She was the first to record for Motown, the first to have a top ten single on Motown, and the first to have a #1 hit on Motown (My Guy, May, ’65).  In 1965, after a successful lawsuit against Motown for using profits from her song to promote The Supremes, she was released from her contract and left Motown. Who was she?

Answer to last week’s Trivia: The American pianist and songwriter from New Orleans who was one of the pioneers of rock & roll, charted almost 70 songs between 1955-1959, had 11 top ten hits, five singles that sold over a million copies each, never had a #1 hit, and was among the first to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame was: Antoine Dominique Domino (Fats).
