Oct. Citizen of the Month 2 copy October Citizen of the Month 1 copyWhen we think of a person to honor as Clay County’s Citizen of the Month, we immediately think of a person who goes above and beyond to help and serve others in our community. Someone who gives of his or herself to make Clay County and the world a better place to live. Someone who puts others before themselves and never asks for or expects praise or accolades. Someone who people look up to, admire and appreciate. There are many in our community who fit this description of “Citizen of the Month”, but few as worthy as Clay County Clerk, Connie Workman.
From election laws, to deed searches, to where they keep the brooms in the courthouse, Connie is the go to woman. Connie never asks others to do something she wouldn’t do herself. She is the first to jump in and get down to work, whether it is planning an event, working on the fountain and bricks in front of the courthouse, or her tireless efforts with the Trooper Eric Workman Foundation. In her quiet, unassuming way, Connie is always willing to help and we are proud and honored to call Connie our County Clerk, friend, and Clay County Citizen of the Month.
