The Lady Panthers are on the hunt!   They took on the fierce Lady Grizzlies of Nicholas County this past Tuesday in what promised to be an action packed game.   The Lady Panthers came out a little shaky, trying to get their basketball legs on, while the Lady Grizzlies took a pretty good lead early in the game.   A relentless defense by the Ladies of CCHS kept the Lady Grizzlies at bay though, not letting them get too far ahead.   At the end of the first half, it was all tied up at 20 points.  Once again, Sarah Boggs led the net burning with 14 points, but this time Summer Alley turned it up a notch netting 12 points of her own.   The second half wasn’t too pretty for either team, but the Lady Panthers got the rust greased, settled into a groove and took care of business.  By the time the net stopped smoking, the Lady Panthers were on top by the score of 44-39.    This season the Lady Panthers will get their air show going and settle into a solid defense that will be tough to beat. Right now they are 3-1 on the season and are looking to improve the stats with each new game.   The Lady Panthers will have a home game on December 22nd against Doddridge County and then be on the road for a game before returning home on a five game stretch.   It is still a long road to the basketball final four, and if the girls get ironed out they may have a shot at the title. So, get out and support the teams when you can.
