The Loudendale Volunteer Fire Department in Kanawha County closed yesterday due to their failure to maintaintheir workers compensation coverage.
Fire departments in West Virginia are required to provide workers compensation for all their fire service members.
Fire service to the Loudendale area will continue with other fire departments covering for them until the issue is corrected by the Loudendale VFD.
