This past weekend was full of gowns, glitter, beautiful ladies and children, sashes and crowns. The 2015 Golden Delicious Festival Pageant was held at the Clay County High School Auditorium, Saturday for the ladies and Sunday for the children. Newly elected Director of the Clay County Golden Delicious Festival Pageant Angie King and her newly established pageant board, which consists of Casie Boggs, Clarissa Hanshaw, and Pamela Taylor had a huge success with their first pageant! Their motto is ‘A Queen Should always be two things: “Classy & Fabulous”.
For Saturday evening, the Mistress of Ceremonies was Meg Nichols. Meg is the 2015 Lady Petite America. Judges for the evening were Heather Roush, Andy Bragg and Christy Cayton. There were 14 beautiful young ladies and women competing for the crown. They had a full day of pageantry that started way before the on stage pageant Saturday evening. Contestants participated in the cocktail dress competition, evening gown competition, as well as answering an on stage question. There were many visiting royalty from other pageants and festivals from across the state and Mrs. West Virginia 2015, Beth Sizemore was in attendance also.
During intermission, entertainment was Justin Perry. The 2014 Golden Delicious Teen Queen, Presley Slater and 2014 Golden Delicious Queen, Leanna Williams had their final walk. It was finally time to announce the winners of the 4 categories. Elizabeth Kingery is your new 2015 Golden Delicious Teen Queen. Her first runner up was Jacie Coleman and second runner up was Grace Craze.
Carissa Randolph is the new 2015 Golden Delicious Mrs. Queen. Her first runner up was Becky Jo Hancock and second runner up was Rachel Scott. Brianna Morton is the new 2015 Golden Delicious Classic Queen. Her first runner up was Danicka Holcomb. And the new 2015 Golden Delicious Queen is Brittani Hancock. Her first runner up was Ashton Rexroad and second runner up was Abigail Anderson.
In the Children’s Division on Sunday, there were many beautiful little princesses and princes. In outfits that were sparkling with glitter and vibrant colors, each and every contestant looked beautiful and handsome. The winners in the Children’s Division were as follows: Little Mr. Golden Delicious Seedling 0-11 months is Jayden Miller. Little Miss Golden Delicious Seedling 0-11 months is Harper Faulkner, first runner up was Kendelynn Harold and second runner up was Skylar Grose. Miss Golden Delicious Seedling 12-23 months is Josie Frame, first runner up was Brea Holcomb and second runner up was Annabelle Legg. Golden Delicious Blossom 2-4yrs is Hannah Gandee, first runner up was Gwynneth Sheets and second runner up was Adlea Adkins. Little Miss Golden Delicious 5-7yrs is Taylor Randolph, first runner up was Ilyauna Evans and second runner up was Elizabeth Paxton.
Golden Delicious Pre-Teen, 8-10yrs is Jillian Frame, first runner up was Megan Osborne and second runner up was Ashdon Salisbury. Jr Miss Golden Delicious 11-12yrs is Alexandria Spiker, first runner up was Abigail Moore and second runner up was Gracie Woods. Fan favorite was Ashdon Salisbury. Photogenic was Jillian Frame. There was also an overall category and the winners were Skylar Grose for Prettiest eyes, Jillian Frame for Prettiest Smile, Adlea Adkins for Best Fashioin, Harper Faulkner for Best Personality and Taylor Randolph for Most Photogenic.
