Fire Leaves Three Families Devastated in Clay County

With winter among us, sadly house fires become more frequent.  Three families in Clay County are suffering the loss of their home and belongings this past week.

It was a very cold Wednesday morning on November 13 as an apartment complex was engulfed in flames. This residence in Two Run served as homes for three families with seven children being left displaced. Thankfully everyone in the home made it out safely but sadly they lost all their belongings.

The Clay County Mud Runners were quick to jump into action after hearing this devastating news and they are looking for the communities help once again. This group is taking up donations of clothes, coats, blankets, pillows, and hygiene items to provide to these families.  There were six children and one baby boy affected by this disaster so toys to keep them occupied would also be very appreciated.

The Mud Runners knows the importance of community support and the outpouring of help is always appreciated. They are taking care of immediate needs for these items now and over the next few weeks when each family has found places to go, they will start the process of collecting household goods and furniture.

The sizes needed can be found on the Clay County Mud Runners Facebook page or by contacting Vickie Ramsey, Beverly Whaling, or Crystal McKinney. Thank you in advance to all those who are gathering up donations and those who have already donated items to the families affected by this tragedy.
