With summer on the downhill slide, katydids sounding off in the night and no chill in the air yet hitting our melted bones, it can only mean one thing – fall sports are on the horizon. With new coaches, new players and new teammates, it won’t be long before the players become teams and the action starts. Get your cooling cloths ready, it will be time to start cheering on fall sports before you know it.
The CCPIF league has already hit the fields for their grid on August 4 and is getting set for their opening game on the 10th of August at home. They will have four home games this season so you should have plenty of chances to catch some action. Both the CCMS and CCHS football programs are also gearing up for their season. CCHS Volleyball is hosting tryouts this week, and the team should be announced soon. The cross country teams will be hitting the trails soon, and with some returning runners, they look to be stacked.
This will be a good season, I believe, for all the teams. They are working hard and have conditioned through the summer to enhance their skills. So, get out and support the teams.
