Elk River Boxing Club Competes in WV State Amateur Boxing Championships

The Elk River Boxing Club competed in the West Virginia State Amateur Boxing Championships this past Weekend at the old Clendenin Middle School in Clendenin, WV
Brett Murphy from Elkview won the 152lb State Title, defeating Zuri McCalister from Charleston.  Joe Hamilton from Amma placed Runner up in the 141lb division losing to Emannuel Summerbell from Charleston.  Bailey Boggs from Ivydale won the 15/16 year old 145lb division, defeating Scott Johnson from St. Albans.  Matthew Woods from Clay placed runner up in the 15/16 year old division, losing to Ryan Short from Welch.  Joe Shamblin from Elkview placed 1st in the 9/10 year old division, defeating Tyler Earnest.
